Colleen was born and raised in the Appalachian wilderness, spending her childhood immersed in nature and sketching nature. Her lifelong passions for art and the natural world led her to earn a Bachelor's degree in Art from Mercyhurst University. After a divorce, Colleen relocated with her children to Orange County in 1986, where she balanced professional work as a graphic designer with painting and sketching whenever she could. The desert has always felt like a spiritual home, from Borrego Springs to the vast Mojave. Colleen now lives and paints full-time in the high desert, drawing inspiration from the arid beautiful landscapes.
