About the Artist

Colleen Angerer was born and raised in rural Pennsylvania near the Great Lake, spending her childhood immersed in nature and sketching birds and animals. Her lifelong passions for art and the natural world led her to earn a Bachelor's degree in Art from Mercyhurst University & summers spent studying under scholarship at the Chautauqua Institute of the Arts in NY.  

Diagnosed with a Neurological Disease and RA in the early 90's. She then had a 25 year successful career as a Graphic Artist then Website Designer in California using assistive devices working for clients such as Warner Bro. & Mattel. 

The desert has always felt like a spiritual home for her, from Borrego Springs to the vast Mojave. Colleen now lives and paints full-time in the high desert, drawing inspiration from the arid  beautiful landscapes. The play of light in the desert from where she lives overlooking the vast Mohave is too beautiful for words, she feels she has not even come close portraying the deserts mystical beauty.
